Visit the impressive stately homes and quaint villages which appear in this latest adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Emma', which follows the antics of a young woman, Emma Woodhouse, as she tries to matchmake and meddle in the lives of her friends and family.

Highlights 

  • Firle Place, a country estate, the location for Hartfield, Emma’s home.
  • Stunning Wilton House, home to the Earl of Pembroke, which appears as Donwell Abbey, home of Mr Knightley. Wilton House has also appeared in The Crown.
  • Chavenage House, an Elizabethan manor house, which appears as Randalls, the home of Mr Weston. Chavenage was also used as a location for Poldark.
  • Kingston Bagpuize House, the location for the school of Harriet Smith, which was also used in Downton Abbey.
  • Lower Slaughter, a picturesque village near the Cotswolds, the location for the village of Highbury. The areas used in Emma include the market square, village hall and the charming 16th and 17th-century cottages.
  • Beautiful Leith Hill, the second highest point in south-east England, which was the setting for the iconic Box Hill picnic scene.
  • Lacock, a picturesque village and a popular 18th century and 19th century film location. Explore the quaint traditional stone cottages, old workhouse, medieval tithe barn, old lock-up and village church. Lacock appeared in a recent TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, Downton Abbey and Cranford.
